Randi Wilens is a graduate of The University Of Southern California's prestigious School 

of Cinema.  She often returns to the university as a guest speaker, offering insight into music 

video and commercial production.  She also lectures yearly at Loyola University's music industry 

department. 

 

Presently, Randi is an executive producer and manages directors for music videos, live concerts/festivals,

documentaries, interactive media, branded viral content, commercials and features. She also works extensively with

A&R/ Marketing Executives/Artist Managers in developing and imaging recording artists.  She represents directors at their respective production companies in the US and Internationally. 

 Recent projects have included such high profile projects as: 

The short documentary on the making of Pearl Jam's new Album"Backspacer" by 

filmmaker/photographer Danny Clinch. 

Interactive music video for Cold War Kids from filmmaker/photographer Sam Jones

Mark Lucas directed the 2009 Austin City Limits 3D Live Concert Experience with such acts as: Pearl Jam, Dave Matthew Band, Kings of Leon,

Dead Weather, Ben Harper, and Mos Def. 

Kerry Asmussen directed the 15 Anniversary Vans Warped Tour Motion Picture Event.

Jamie Caliri won a 2009 Emmy for his Opening Title Design on Showtime's "United States of Tara."

Hydra/Humble TV directed the international music video for Muse's "Uprising".

Pete Candeland/ Passion Pictures recently brought the Beatles back to life in the amazing cinematic intro and outro for The Beatles Rock Band edition.

 

 Commercial projects have included three spots for United Airlines: 

Dragon, which premiered during the 2007 NFL Superbowl and won the AICP,CLIO and ANNIE award for best animated commercial.

Heart and Sea Orchestra, were viewed by millions of people during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Heart won the 2008 AICP and ANNIE award for best animated commercial.

She also represents feature 

directors for music videos: GEORGE HICKENLOOPER whose credits include Factory GirlThe Man From Elysian Fields,

Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse; FOREST WHITAKER whose credits include Hope Floats 

and Waiting To Exhale, and TIM STORY whose credits include The Fantastic Four Series and 

Barbershop. 

 

 

RW Media executive produces and represents filmmakers for documentaries, live 

concert/DVD/long-form projects, include (partial credits) Wilco " I Am Trying to Break Your Heart",

GEORGE MICHAEL’s 2008 World Tour DVD, LENNY KRAVITZ, TORI AMOS, DIDO, SHAKIRA,

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, 30 SECONDS TO MARS, and INCUBUS.

 

 

Randi produces music videos and represents directors for markets 

including Latin America, Canada, Europe and Asia. Artists vary from rock, r&b, hip-hop, metal, pop, 

techno, dance, and alternative.  She has also embraced the Nashville music scene as well, 

working with such artists as SUGARLAND, LEE ANN WOMACK, THE WRECKERS,

KEITH URBAN, JOHN FOGERTY, GARY ALLEN, and RANDY TRAVIS. 

 

In 2007 RW MEDIA embarked on managing musician/composer Asdru Sierra, one of the 

founding members of the Grammy award winning Latin/fusion/jazz collective Ozomatli, for Film 

and Television scoring. His work has been featured in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Nacho Libre,

Never Been Kissed and 21 Grams. 

 

Additionally, she has collaborated with many film studios and independent producers on 

feature film tie-ins for such motion pictures as; TRANSFORMERS, LEMONY SNICKET’S A 

SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS (beginning and end title sequences), DAREDEVIL, SHREK 

1 and 2, BIG DADDY and THE GIRL WITH THE PEARL EARRING (featuring Scarlette Johansen).

 

In the early nineties, Randi gained notoriety when she produced Nine Inch Nails 

“Happiness in Slavery” and Danzig “Its Coming Down.”  The videos hit the music industry by 

surprise using themes of S&M and performance art, creating major buzz amongst top industry 

executives.  The marketing of the videos were ahead of their time as promotion came by way of 

word of mouth due to their extreme imagery and content.  These videos set a precedent for 

what was to become with the viral market. 

 

In 1997, Randi launched RW Media, which she independently owns. Partial list of credits include:

Prior to forming RW MEDIA, she was promoted to president of her own music video and 

commercial company ALTER EGO –a division of Bedford Falls. She managed the Los Angeles 

and New York offices, overseeing Sales, Marketing, Production, Post Production and 

Operations. Additionally, Randi worked extensively with major film studios on music video 

feature film tie-ins.  A partial list of produced projects includes five major videos which aired 

concurrently on MTV: MICHAEL JACKSON, SEAL, DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, STING, SYSTEM 

OF THE DOWN, METALLICA, THE DANDY WARHOLS, AND NINE INCH NAILS.  Randi also did 

a variety of work at ALTER EGO with advertising agencies working on campaigns for LEE 

JEANS, SEGA, NIKE, ADIDAS and MOLSON BEER. 

 

Finally, Wilens spent the first few years of the nineties at INDUSTRIAL ARTISTS – A 

Bedford Falls subsidiary as Executive Producer. There she headed the music video division for 

a commercial/Interactive production company.  Randi also recruited, managed, and developed 

directors for music videos, commercials and interactive media. She served as head of 

production, sales and post-production as well as acting as a liaison with all record and 

management companies.  Randi started her career as a story editor and executive assistant for 

feature film producers. Upon graduation from USC, she worked on several high profile  motion 

pictures  before embracing the short form arena.
